I’m Eric Neitzel, a 30-year fire service veteran and founder of Wings of Help, a nonprofit dedicated to providing aerial disaster support, search and rescue, environmental response, and emergency communications in rural Arizona and beyond.
Our most critical tool — a 2011 Chevy Tahoe — has been our all-in-one mission vehicle for years. From hauling drones and supplies to navigating wildfire zones and finding lost pets, this truck has carried our mission through countless deployments. Unfortunately, after years of reliable service, its engine has finally failed.
While responding to a search for a missing dog at the request from Northern Arizona Animal Search and Rescue in the Mormon Lake area of the Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff, Arizona, the Tahoe suffered a catastrophic engine problem.
Without it, we’re grounded. And that means slower response times, fewer missions, and more communities left waiting.
This isn’t just about a truck — it’s about continuing our mission to help others when seconds count. If you’ve seen us in action, you know how far we stretch every mile.
